About the Indirect Tax Service Line

The Indirect Tax service line at Grant Thornton UAE provides comprehensive advisory and compliance services related to VAT, excise tax, and customs duties. The team helps clients navigate complex tax regulations, ensuring efficient tax planning, risk management, and compliance with local and international tax laws. We proactively assist clients to be compliant and VAT efficient and represent their interests to resolve complex or contentious matters.

As a Consultant some of your responsibilities will include:

• Strengthening and developing client relationships through day‑to‑day contact and effective communication
• Understanding clients’ business operations to provide tailored, technically accurate tax advice
• Keeping clients updated on the progress of ongoing engagements, gathering required information, and maintaining timely communication
• Working on VAT advisory and compliance engagements across a diverse client portfolio
• Supporting VAT and tax due diligence projects
• Delivering practical, timely solutions to client VAT queries
• Preparing clear, well‑structured draft reports and working papers
• Collaborating with the team and supporting seniors across multiple client engagements
• Supporting the preparation of client proposals
• Adhering to all risk and compliance guidelines while delivering high‑quality client deliverables
• Providing technical input on legislative changes and FTA guidance, and issuing timely updates to clients
• Using technology tools to efficiently deliver work for review.

• 3+ years of related work experience in VAT and GST as well as M&A tax
• Pursuit of a CTA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification relevant to tax services is preferred
• Ability to be a team player but also have the confidence to work alone on small engagements and maintain a flexible, proactive approach
• Must demonstrate attention to detail to ensure work meets the firm’s ethical and professional standards
• Strong written and spoken English, Arabic speaking is advantageous
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Willingness and ability to work additional hours, as needed, and travel to various client sites
