About the Indirect Tax Service Line

The Indirect Tax service line at Grant Thornton UAE provides comprehensive advisory and compliance services related to VAT, excise tax, and customs duties. The team helps clients navigate complex tax regulations, ensuring efficient tax planning, risk management, and compliance with local and international tax laws. We proactively assist clients to be compliant and VAT efficient and represent their interests to resolve complex or contentious matters.

As a Manager some of your responsibilities will include:

• Strengthening and developing client relationships by, understanding their business needs and tax expectations
• Acting as the day to day point of contact for clients, managing the delivery of quality advice and compliance services
• Keeping clients updated on tax matters, and how changes impact their business operations
• Managing a variety of technical tax issues and client situations with expertise 
• Delivering proactive, high quality tax solutions, whilst maintaining quality and adhering to all associated risk and compliance governance guidelines
• Preparing high-quality tax reports and professionally presented documents
• Managing and supervising junior indirect tax professionals
• Overseeing client proposal requests and timelines
• Managing budgets, administration and financial performance of client engagements
• Supporting the GT deals team, with tax due diligence projects

• 5 – 7+ years of related work experience in VAT and GST as well as M&A tax
• UAE VAT experience is advantageous
• Professionally qualified (CTA, CA, UAE Tax/ Vat Diploma)
• Current relevant knowledge of VAT Act and relevant case law
• Strong M&A experience - dealing with VAT aspects of M&A transactions
• Technically strong with experience of advising clients on sophisticated tax-related issues
• Strong written and spoken English, Arabic speaking is advantageous
• Strong interpersonal and presentation capability
• Willingness and ability to work additional hours, as needed, and travel to various client sites
